Our latest milestone, besides the 8th and 9th tooth popping up and causing Mom & Dad lots of sleepless nights, is Lacy's acknowledgement of animal sounds. When we ask her what a doggie says, we get a version of woof, woof, woof. When we ask her what a duckie says we get a version of quack, quack, quack. Lastly, she now growls when asked what a bear says. Of course, if she sees a doggie or hears a doggie she will also make her version of a bark. It is absolutely adorable and if I can get it on video I will make sure to post on the blog.
We had a great visit to Carmel, although it seems that Lacy knows when Mom & Dad are trying to relax, and thus she either gets sick or decides that she should get 3 or 4 teeth at once. Needless to say, times were tough for us, but the weather did not disappoint and the scenery was gorgeous. We took Lacy to the Monterrey Bay Aquarium and she loved every minute of it. So much to see. She loved the fish, she loved the birds, the otters, and she even got her own personal visit with a scuba diver in one of the big fish tanks. We enjoyed it as well, and decided that we will have to go back regularly as it is only a 2 hour drive from home.
Ryan and I were able to get away yesterday afternoon for a few hours to catch San Francisco's production of Wicked. For those of you haven't seen it, it is absolutely worth the cost to see in NYC or any of the traveling productions throughout the US. Even my husband (not a musical theatre guy) enjoyed the show immensely. It was a nice break for Mom & Dad, but we were excited to get back to our little girl, although it appears she didn't even realize we had left!
